WOMEN’S MAJOR LEAGUE INDOOR SOCCER WELCOMES NEW JERSEY ANGELS FOR 2026 SEASON

Chicago, Ill. (October 15, 2025) — Women’s Major League Indoor Soccer (WMLIS) is proud to welcome the  New Jersey Angels for the 2026 season.

While the club is currently in its early development phase, it is already generating buzz among local athletes who are eager for more high-level, year-round soccer opportunities in the region.

The Angels were founded with a mission to elevate the competitive landscape for women’s soccer in New Jersey. With limited options beyond short semi-pro seasons, the club aims to fill that gap by offering a professional platform for players to develop and compete throughout the year.

“Ever since graduating college, I have continued to look for any opportunities to be able to play at a high level,” said Noelle DeFede, current representative for the club. “It became apparent that other than the semi-pro leagues, which only run from about May to July, there are not many other opportunities in the New Jersey area to be able to continue to play competitively year round.”

The club is actively assembling its leadership team and seeking a dedicated ownership group, DeFede added. The long-term vision includes establishing a winning culture and creating an environment that inspires young athletes.

“I am excited to play in professional-level matches, it is a dream come true to have this opportunity,” she said. “I also think the process of growing a fan base and connecting with players and businesses in the community is going to be a very fun experience that I am really looking forward to.”

The Angels will begin announcing player signings in the coming months. The club is also exploring GoodSports USA as a potential venue for home matches.
