THE WEEK THAT WAS: SUMMIT TOPS PAO CHICAGO
Chicago, Ill. – Last week in the Women’s Major League Indoor Soccer (WMLIS) there was an exciting second week match up.
Summit City United (Ft. Wayne, Ind.) secured their second regular season win against Panathinaikos Chicago (Chicago PAO).
Here’s the match week recap:
Summit City vs. Pao Chicago
Cleveland secured a 9-5 victory over Chicago, with Mojtaheti and Drew on the board with 3 each. Pao started the game with a shot from Schmidt, giving them a 1-0 lead in the first quarter. Summit City off the power play made it 1-1 at the end of the first quarter. Second quarter saw three goals from Summit and 1 from Pao Chicago bring them to a 4-2 score line at half.
Summit scored first in the third quarter off the foot of Mojtaheti to make it 5-2, Chicago came back with a goal from Kociszewski, despite the effort Summit still led at the end of the third 7-3. The final quarter saw back and forth goals for both teams to bring the score line to 9-5 with Summit sealing their victory with the last goal before match end.
