The Week That Was 2/15: Ft. Wayne, Chicago, Salt Lake City and New Jersey Secure Wins

Chicago, Illinois – This weekend in Women’s Major League Indoor Soccer (WMLIS), five matchups took place, with strong performances across the league. Several teams secured key wins as the regular season continues to shape the playoff picture.
Here’s a look at the action from the weekend:
Ft. Wayne vs. Kalamazoo - Saturday, Feb. 21
Ft. Wayne Summit City Sentinels defeated Kalamazoo Zoo City FC 6-2 at Let’s Play Soccer in Portage. Ft. Wayne built a lead early and extended it in the third period, while Kalamazoo’s offense was limited despite outshooting their opponents 22-9.
New Jersey vs. Chicago - Saturday, Feb. 21
Chicago Mustangs defeated New Jersey Angels 9-3 at Let’s Play Soccer in Portage. Chicago built a strong lead in the first period and maintained control throughout, outshooting New Jersey 31-15 and scoring consistently across all four periods.
New Jersey vs. Kalamazoo - Sunday, Feb. 22
New Jersey Angels defeated Kalamazoo Zoo City FC 6-3 at Let’s Play Soccer in Portage. New Jersey built an early lead in the first period and held control throughout, outshooting Kalamazoo 41-23 and scoring in each period except the third.
Salt Lake City vs. Phoenix - Sunday, Feb. 22
Salt Lake City Utah Uprising defeated Phoenix Pulse FC 7-3 at Sport City Utah. Utah built a lead in the first period and steadily extended it, outshooting Phoenix 43-34 and scoring in every period except the fourth, while holding off a late push from Phoenix.
New Jersey vs. Ft. Wayne - Sunday, Feb. 22
New Jersey Angels edged Ft. Wayne Summit City Sentinels 7-6 at Let’s Play Soccer in Portage. The game saw multiple lead changes, with New Jersey holding a 3-0 first-period lead, Ft. Wayne rallying to tie late, and Jessica Johnson scoring the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in the fourth period.
